A grand jury has indicted former New York Giants WR Plaxico Burress on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment. Burress now has to decide whether to face a trial or take a plea deal. Assuming one is offered. I would expect Burress to take a deal because ... Read More

Plaxico Burress Wouldn’t Be So Bad, Would He?

Dunn/Getty - The Jets have their eyes on former Giants wide out Plaxico Burress.Without a doubt, Plaxico Burress has entrenched himself firmly in the attention seat. Love him or hate him…you’re probably talking about him.

Posted by Xander Diaz On July - 6 - 20091 COMMENT

Craig Ruttle/MCT - Plaxico Burress walks from Manhattan Criminal Court in New York with his attorney Ben Brafman on March 31, 2009, after he attended proceedings in his gun possession case. Some 8 months after Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg, Roger Goodell and the NFL are preparing to review the incident.

The review will determine if Buress’s resulting legal issues violate the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Should the commissioner find his actions violated the policy, he could move to suspend Burress.

Of course, suspension by the NFL seems like the least of Burress’s troubles as he still faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon.

Burress would face up to 3 1/2 years in prison if convicted. Read the rest of this entry »
