New Yorks Jets QB Mark Sanchez

This has been quite the off-season for us Jets fans. After a heart breaking end to the 2008 season, we have seen our team make for some seemingly huge strides.

Eric Mangini has moved on to Cleveland…gas can and matches in hand. Rex ‘Son of Buddy’ Ryan has stepped into the head coaching role, bringing defensive stars Bart Scott and Jim Leonhard with him.

These additions immediately put the Jets defense back on the radar. More importantly, he brought a bit of swagger and a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Something this team has been sorely lacking for way too long. Read the rest of this entry »

Is The Clock Ticking On Vernon Gholston?

Posted by Xander Diaz On May - 4 - 20093 COMMENTS

Is The Clock Ticking On Vernon Gholston?New York Jets linebacker, Vernon Gholston was supposed to be the perfect fit. The 6′ 3″, 266 lb. linesman-turned-linebacker was supposed to terrorize quarterbacks around the league with his speed, strength and “long limbs”.

He was supposed to be the pass rusher from hell. Selected 6th over-all by the Jets in the 2008 NFL draft & signed to a 5-year, $50 million contract with $21 million in guaranteed money, he was supposed to be a beast.

Yeah. Right. The former Ohio State sack machine has produced about as close to nothing as is possible.

Jets To Draft Sanchez? Don’t Bet On It!

Posted by Xander Diaz On April - 23 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Can The Jets Land USC Quarterback Mark Sabchez In The 2009 NFL Draft?

Surfing around the web today I was hit by an epiphany of sorts. Anyone who thinks the Jets have a shot at nabbing QB Mark Sanchez is basically delusional. All this talk and debate about Mark Sanchez and the Jets is just never going to happen.

Never, ever.

Over the last week, the fervor over Sanchez has grown to a fever pitch, raising the USC QB’s draft stock to titantic proportions. Clifton Brown, reporting for the SportingNews.com, claims no less than six teams are courting the former Southern Cal quarterback. The Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars are eyeing Sanchez with top 10 picks in hand. Add to that list the Denver Broncos, Washington Redskins and New York Jets, all of whom may be more desperate and willing to trade up into the top five to get him. Read the rest of this entry »
