The New York Jets announced that they have signed safety Emanuel Cook, and waived linebacker Ezra Butler. Cook entered the NFL with the Jets, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of the University of South Carolina in 2009. Cook had four tackles and recovered a fumble on special teams, but did not make the team’s 53-man roster. Cook (5-10, 205) began the ’09 season on the Jets’ practice squad, but was released after one week. Cook eventually landed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad, and was signed to a "Reserve/Futures" contract the season. The Bucs released him on June 18.
