It’s the little things that get me excited. Â One of my followers on twitter @empiresportsnow sent me a tweet today asking me if I use the new Twitter feature @anywhere. I had NO CLUE what he was talking about so I engaged in a conversation.
A few tweets later, it is a feature that uses the Twitter API to allow any app or web site to integrate with Twitter very easily. Â I like to think I know my stuff when it comes to blogging and using online systems, but when it comes down to programming, forget about it.
It litterarly took me 10 minutes to get this site hooked up.
So what is @ANYWHERE twitter integration?
From now on, when I reference anyone’s twitter name, I simply just put a name in the post as text and if you hover this (@e_man) you will be able to follow the id, set text alerts etc.
Thank You @empiresportsnow for showing us how to do this!! Â So I would like to return the favor. Â PLEASE check out his web site: EmpireSportsNow.com http://empiresportsnow.com/.
Empire Sports Now is a New York sports blog covering lower New York sports, including the Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, Knicks, St. John’s, Rutgers, Belmont Stakes, and other New York sports and sporting events. Empire Sports Now’s goal is to bring unbiased coverage and opinion on New York sports.
Here’s what you won’t find at Empire Sports Now:
- Gossip – For example: Who Derek Jeter is dating. Go to the gossip magazines at the front of the checkout line for that.
- Pictures of half naked girls – If you come to a sports blog for that, you’re not here for the sports.
- Steroids talk – Some players have confessed to doing them, others still deny use. There are enough media outlets and blogs out there that discuss steroids.
- Brett Favre retirement chatter – Self-explanatory.Rich Santonocito, founder of Empire Sports Now, is a 24 year old Long Island native and an alumni of Clemson University (Class of ’08) in South Carolina. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Clemson. He also writes for Long Island Ultimate Athlete magazine, covering the William Floyd High School football team and other high school sports teams. Rich has done work with Premiere Global Sports, a leader in the sports marketing industry. He is also a New York Jets’ season ticket holder (Section 126, Row 5).
