Gary Myers of the New York Daily News reports The Ryan Express to the Super Bowl is something the Jets seem to be taking for granted, as if their hot run through last season’s playoffs guarantees they will take the next step in 2010, but before they even get to training camp, the locker room has been infested by the great equalizer in sports: Players making a stink about their contracts, which can be ultra-destructive. Ryan, who loves Revis, was under the assumption that he was on the sidelines because he was not feeling well, but Ryan didn’t know that Revis was not ill but sending a message to Johnson and GM Mike Tannenbaum. Revis claimed later that he had been joking about the incident with defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman. The repercussion: Revis humiliated Ryan. "Any player we have, when they tell you something is not right, you believe them to be a man of their word," Ryan said during his news conference. But when informed that Revis had said he was faking his lightheadedness, Ryan said, "That would disappoint me, sure. I believe in Darrelle, so when he tells me he’s lightheaded or he’s got a hamstring, I’ll believe him."
