Kerry Rhodes made his debut as an Arizona Cardinal yesterday in a new Red Sweater and spoke briefly about his ending relationship with the Jets.
“We weren’t seeing eye to eye as a player and a franchise,†said Rhodes, wearing a Cardinal red sweater. “I’ve got a lot of respect for those guys — they gave me my start and they gave me a big deal to stay around for awhile — but we just didn’t mesh well at the end of that journey.â€
Rocky Rhode
It’s too bad, because Kerry got the message late in the game, but he got it and was playing better towards the end of the season and into the playoffs.  I know Kerry expected to be a Jet but it was obvious to me that the Jets wanted to get rid of him and would take any price to get him out of green.  Why else would they have settled on a 4th and a 7th (next year).
Mike Tannebaum admitted in his press conference that things got a little bit rocky with Kerry towards the very end of the relationship. Â The Jets could have endured another season with Kerry and work with the young player to get him on board with their new program OR just cut their losses, which they obviously did.
Culture Shock
I believe Kerry is experiencing a little bit of culture shock based on a couple of tweets, and his demeanor in the press conference.  Kerry put on his best “I’m glad to be here†face, but it looked like anything but…  The man nicknamed “Hollywood†is closer to the city, but the bright lights big city of New York is now a thing of the past.  How will Kerry respond to not being in THAT spotlight.
A fan asked Kerry how it was to be traded and he responded:
kerryrhodes:Â @chatterblog its weird but its a part of the business and some people you will miss some u dont care.
I wonder if the people he won’t miss would be Thomas Jones, and all of the Defensive Coaching including Rex.  Kerry will be reunited with his former defensive co-ordinator in Arizona, Donnie Henderson, who should help soften the blow of shock for Kerry.
Kerry also tweeted about the Dessert:
kerryrhodes:Â Just landed in AZ it really is the desert!! Lol!
Changing the Brand
Kerry wasted no time changing his Twitter screen and avatar. Â The Jet green background is gone and his picture displays him in a suit. Â His official web site is still displayed in Jets style but that will be a thing of the past shortly. Â If you want any of his Jets attire that he sells personally of number 25, I would recommend you hit it up now.
Kerry is familiar with being in a red jersey and also having a Cardinal dawned on his helmet. Â Kerry was a Louisville Cardinal in College where he played some Quarterback.
