Chargers Trade Antonio Cromartie to Jets for a 2011 Pick

Cromartie a Jet!

First reported by Jay Glazer on Twitter, Adam Shefter confirms that Antonio Cromartie is now a New York Jet.

Adam_Schefter: Filed to ESPN: Chargers traded cornerback Antonio Cromartie to Jets for a 2011 third-round pick that could turn to a second.

Adam_Schefter: Chargers get a 2011 third-round pick that turns to a second-round pick based on Antonio Cromartie’s play time and the Jets performance.

Cromartie has one year left on his contract and there are no plans for his deal to be redone now.

Cromartie is a four-year starter, a former first-round draft pick and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2007 when he intercepted 10 passes.

This had been a rumor earlier in the week that the Jets were interested in the cornerback.  Jets Twit had the top 5 rumors so far in the offseason and this was one of them that just game true!

Lito Sheppard was let go today and the Jets wasted no time with finding his replacement.  Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie are on the same team!  Wow, teams now should be very afraid!

What do you think of the trade?  Let’s hear it!
