We can only imagine what the 2009 – 2010 NFL season will bring for the New York Jets. The Jets are improved in some areas as well as declined in others. The biggest area being QB.
With the subtraction of the legendary Brett Favre, the Jets lose that deep threat, the guy who can complete an 80 yard pass, the man who can take a team down the field in 2 minutes. The same guy who threw for 6 td against Arizona and then the following game threw more interceptions than he did td’s.
Favre’s presence will without a doubt be missed, however a new tide is on its way in. And its coming in fast in the form of Mark Sanchez.
Jet fans across the globe want Sanchez to come in and start right away, to get thrown right in the mix. However let’s not forget about Kellen Clemens. With only limited days in training camp, reports are that Kellen Clemens has a better feel for the system than Sanchez however with Sanchez taking a more conservative approach he has fewer interceptions and a better completion rate.
According to newyorkjets.com head coach Rex Ryan and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will settle on their starting qb before the final pre season game against the Giants. Many are thinking the Jets will make Sanchez hold a clip board and learn the system for a little bit before sticking him out of the field.
Can Kellen Clemens or Mark Sanchez be the next Kurt Warner? Can Rex Ryan be the next Bill Belichick? The great thing about football is you never know what the upcoming season may bring.
