Breaking news out of HolyJoeNamath.com, Leon Washington has arrived at the New York Jets training camp at Florham Park.

In a move that shows the kind of class the star running back has, Washington showed up in time for the first training camp session today at 8:15am despite his pending negotiations for a new contract. I suspect this means a deal is very, very close to being done. I wouldn’t be surprised if the deal is done and just hasn’t been made public yet. Whatever the case, you can be assured that Washington’s agent, Alvin Keels, is hot on the case.

I feel tremendously better now that both Thomas Jones and Leon Washington have reported and our offense, be it what it is, can begin to train in earnest.

I only hope they add a wide receiver to the group before the start of the regular season. Hey a guy can dream can’t he?
