No more tears for Brett Favre, but the Minnesota Vikings must be bawling like babies right now, especially pro-Favre head coach Brad Childress.
The Star Tribune first reported the news that Brett Favre declined the offer to return to the NFL to play for the Vikings, stating that he didn’t think he had what it takes to be able to compete in what would be his 19th season.
This move is quite a shock to most football fans who have been told all summer long that Favre to Minnesota was pretty much a done deal.
It has to be the biggest shock to Childress who put his butt on the line by going after Favre in the first place, essentially shrugging off Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels as potential starters.
Looks like it’s damage control time for Childress, who was already on the hot seat. Guess he’s officially out of that frying pan & into the fire.
