Jim Johnson, defensive guru for the Philadelphia Eagles, has passed away, losing his fight with cancer.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Johnson family and the Eagles organization as this is a tremendous loss.

Johnson was not only a mastermind of the dominant Eagles defense, but he was also mentor to many great coaches, including Steve Spagnuolo and John Harbaugh.

Jim Johnson has been away from football this offseason battling this disease and it’s just a shock to realize he won’t be back on the sidelines calling plays, although I’d bet anything he’ll forever be there in spirit.
